Davidson's Mains Children's Gala Royal Court
Each year, P7 children from our local community have the chance to apply for a place in the Gala Court.
Court Selection Procedure
6 Children are chosen by length of family residency
- Queen
- King
- Ladies-in-Waiting x 2
- Courtiers x 2
Another 6 to 10 children are chosen at random by drawing out of a hat. The final number depends on the number of applications.

Requirements
Applications are open to children in Primary 7 attending Davidson's Mains Primary or living within Davidson's Mains Parish.
Applications open in the Autumn. You will need to provide:
- Start date of child’s current residency
- Start date of parents current residency (Do not include previous years if you moved away and returned.)
- State date of grandparents current residency (Only applicable if the applying child’s parent(s) never moved away.)
- If your child lives out of catchment, but attends D’Mains Primary, what was their start date at the school:

Parents and children should complete the Court application together. Families of selected children are expected to help with Gala fundraising events and the set up/break down of the Gala and its fundraisers.
